Red River Market to Host Spring Farmers Market at Concordia College

Last updated:

MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Red River Market is bringing its spring farmers market to Concordia College for “Moorhead Day” on Saturday, April 18.

The free event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. inside the Olson Forum Building, located at 700 12th Ave S. Organized to foster community connection and increase access to locally sourced products, the market will feature a variety of local vendors, live entertainment, and hands-on activities.

Attendees will be able to shop for hot food, baked goods, pantry staples, household items, and art. Highlighted vendors for the Moorhead event include Hometown Woodworking, Due North GF Bakery & Goods, and Free Soul Candle Co. To promote accessibility, all vendors will accept SNAP/EBT on eligible products, and the Red River Market will match purchases up to $15 per person per visit at their information booth.

In addition to shopping, the market will offer free activities for all ages. Local group Cobber Crafts will provide materials for attendees to decorate custom tote bags, while Letters of Love will host a craft table for creating personalized letters.

Live music from local bands and student ensembles is scheduled throughout the event. The entertainment lineup includes:

  • 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.: Transcontinental Railroad
  • 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Clean Slate
  • 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.: The Inferno Quartet
  • 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Concordia Damkör

Lesleyanne, the Folkways Programming and Arts Curation Manager, noted that the event is designed to bridge the gap between the campus and the surrounding city. “It’s a meaningful opportunity for Concordia students and neighbors alike to come together, support local vendors, and to meet other neighbors,” she said.

Following the event at Concordia College, the Red River Market will host its final spring market of the season in West Fargo at the POW/MIA Plaza on May 16.
