FARGO, N.D. — The Red River Market is scheduled to return to West Acres Mall on February 7, hosting a combined farmers market and nonprofit expo in partnership with Giving Hearts Day.
The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., aims to provide a space for residents to engage with local food vendors and regional charitable organizations ahead of the region’s annual 24-hour fundraising event, Giving Hearts Day, on February 12.
Local Commerce and Community Connection
The indoor market will feature more than 35 local vendors set up within the halls of West Acres Mall. Offerings will include pantry staples, hot food, baked goods, household items, and art. According to organizers, featured vendors include Farmented Foods, a company focused on fermented products and combating food waste; Hanson’s Vanilla Co., a purveyor of flavored extracts; and Lost In Fargo, a clothing brand specializing in apparel inspired by local culture.
In addition to commercial vendors, the event will host a Nonprofit Expo. This segment of the market includes interactive booths where attendees can speak directly with representatives from regional organizations, learn about their missions, and discuss opportunities for involvement and donation.
“The Giving Hearts Day Farmers Market is about bringing people together,” said Erica Kale, Folkways Communications & Development Director. “It’s a place to connect with neighbors, shop from local businesses, and support regional nonprofits when community matters most.”

Accessibility and Future Events
Organizers have confirmed that food accessibility remains a priority for the winter market series. All eligible vendors will accept SNAP/EBT payments. Additionally, the Red River Market will provide a purchasing match of up to $15 per person, per visit for those utilizing these benefits. Attendees can access this service at the Red River Market information booth.
This event is part of the Red River Market’s traveling winter and spring schedule, which hosts pop-up markets across Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo. Following the February 7 event, the organization has announced a “Senior Day” market scheduled for March 14 at West Acres Mall.
