Downtown Fargo Launches Annual ‘Window Wonderland’ Contest

FARGO, N.D. — Holiday festivities have officially begun in downtown Fargo, marked by the launch of the annual “Window Wonderland” storefront display contest and the release of the 2025 Downtown Holiday Shopping Guide.

The Downtown Community Partnership (DCP) announced that voting is now open for the Window Wonderland competition. Dozens of businesses in the city’s center have decorated their storefronts with holiday themes. Residents and visitors are invited to view the displays and cast a vote for their favorite entry.

According to the DCP, individuals are limited to one vote each. The voting period will conclude shortly after the Xcel Energy Holiday Lights Parade, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6. To assist the public in locating participating businesses, a downloadable map is available on the DCP website.

“Window Wonderland is more than a contest; it’s an invitation to experience downtown in a magical way while also supporting our local shops and restaurants this season,” said Rocky Schneider, Executive Director of the DCP.

In conjunction with the window displays, the DCP has released the 2025 Downtown Holiday Shopping Guide. The publication highlights local businesses, gift ideas, and seasonal promotions active from Nov. 25 through Dec. 31. The guide is available in print at various downtown locations and as a digital download online.

Business owners note that the events contribute to the atmosphere of the district.

“The window displays create a real sense of community spirit,” said Pulling of Silver Linings Creamery. “You can feel, and see, the energy in downtown during the holiday season.”

Voting instructions, the event map, and the digital shopping guide can be found at downtownfargo.com.
