FARGO, ND – The first annual Red River Roots Bluegrass Festival is set to take place at Crooked Lane Farm in Colfax, ND, just 30 minutes south of Fargo, this Saturday, September 13th. The day-long, family-friendly event will feature eight hours of live bluegrass and folk music, along with food trucks and musical activities. The festival will proceed rain or shine.
Musical Performances
The festival’s lineup includes a mix of local and regional artists:
- Tucker’d Out (Fargo): Known for their traditional bluegrass sound.
- Kohlrabi Soup (Fargo): A local favorite playing a blend of folk and bluegrass.
- Rosie Daze (Twin Cities): Traveling from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, this band brings a folk sound to the stage.
- JT Kennelly Band (Fargo): This local group is known for its high-energy folk performances.
- The “TBD” Trio (Fargo): A new trio from Fargo that specializes in folk music.
- Red and the Fox: This group will perform their unique blend of folk and bluegrass.
For Musicians and Attendees
In addition to the main stage performances, the festival is designed to be an interactive experience for musicians. An open stage will be available for performers, and attendees can participate in group-based musical workshops and acoustic jam sessions. The Bluegrass Association of North Dakota (B.A.N.D.) will also be a vendor at the event.
The festival will feature a wide array of food and drink options from local vendors and food trucks, including Blackbird Woodfire, Tamales Atzlan, Bees Asian & Fusion, and Jumbo’s Sloppy Joe Food Truck. For beverages, Swing Barrel Brewing Co. and Dakota Vines Winery will be on site. Sweet treats and coffee will be provided by Windsor Waffles, Treat Theater, and Black Coffee & Waffle Bar.
Local artists and vendors like Maddie Derby Paintings and Cats Cradle Artwork will be showcasing their work.
