Bonanzaville Prepares for 55th Annual Pioneer Days

WEST FARGO, N.D. – Bonanzaville is set to host its 55th annual Pioneer Days celebration on Saturday, August 23, and Sunday, August 24. The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days, features a variety of activities and historical demonstrations.

This year’s celebration includes horse-drawn carriage rides, a parade at 2 p.m. on both days, and a kiddie tractor pull. Old-time music and a pioneer church service on Sunday are also scheduled. The North Dakota State Pedal Tractor Pull competition will be held on Sunday, with registration starting at 11 a.m.

Pioneer Days began as the “Pioneer Days Review” in 1970 and was initially held in Davenport, North Dakota, before moving to its current location. Bonanzaville, a 12-acre historical park in West Fargo, is owned and operated by the Cass County, North Dakota Historical Society. The site features 41 buildings, including a main museum, a historic prairie village, and specialized museums for cars, agriculture, and law enforcement.

The event is sponsored by Visit Fargo-Moorhead. Additional details and a full schedule of events are available on the Bonanzaville website.
