FARGO, N.D. – The Clara Barton Hawthorne Neighborhood Association will host its biennial Historic Home Tour on Sunday, September 14, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The event will offer a self-guided tour of eight historic homes within the Fargo neighborhood, with funds raised supporting free, year-round community events.

The tour features homes built between the 1900s and 1960s, showcasing a range of architectural styles including Colonial, Tudor, American Four Square, and Mid-Century Modern. One of the tour stops is a home owned by the Stern family that was designed by the granddaughter of architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Attendees will receive an informational booklet and have the opportunity to speak with some of the homeowners.

Tickets for the event are $25 per person for ages 12 and up. They can be purchased online at hawthorneneighborhood.org and picked up on the day of the tour at Clara Barton Elementary School. Tickets are also available in person at Olive and Rust, located at 1001 4th Ave N. The self-guided tour spans a route of 3.7 miles and can be completed on foot, by bike, or by vehicle. The press release notes that many of the homes include multiple staircases and may not be accessible for individuals with mobility challenges.
