Vietnam Veterans of America to Host Annual July 4th 5K/10K

WEST FARGO, ND – The Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Fargo Chapter 491, will hold its annual 5K/10K run this Friday, July 4th, at Bonanzaville. The event aims to raise funds for community reinvestment and support the VVA’s ongoing initiatives.

Registration and packet pick-up for the race will begin at 7:00 AM, with the race start time scheduled for 8:00 AM. The event will take place at Bonanzaville USA, located at 1351 Main Ave W, West Fargo. Walk-up registrations are welcome on race day, and participants can also register online in advance at vaa941.0rg/vva-run.

The Vietnam Veterans of America is a congressionally chartered organization dedicated to advocating for Vietnam-era veterans and their families. Their mission includes promoting quality healthcare access for veterans, seeking accountability for POWs and MIAs, supporting newer generations of veterans, and serving local communities. VVA Chapter 491 collaborates with organizations such as the Gladys Ray Shelter and Lisbon Veterans Home, participates in suicide prevention efforts, engages with veterans in long-term care facilities, and provides educational presentations on flag etiquette in schools.

The event’s venue, Bonanzaville USA, is operated by the Cass County, North Dakota Historical Society. This twelve-acre site in West Fargo features a main museum and thirty-six historic buildings, alongside specialized museums dedicated to cars, airplanes, tractors, agriculture, and law enforcement.
