During the morning of Jan. 11, Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney and other local mayors participated in the 2024 State of the Cities event hosted by the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce. In his remarks, Mayor Mahoney recapped Fargo’s achievements of the past year and offered a blueprint for continued success in 2024.

In conjunction with The Chamber event, The City of Fargo released the “Your Fargo” State of the City video underscoring six core values: Caring, Preparing, Collaborating, Growing, Serving and Honoring. The video celebrates Fargo as a city of limitless opportunity where young people, families and seniors can thrive – a community where residents can have true purpose.

Mayor Mahoney’s remarks were accompanied by the release of a video called “Your Fargo,” which emphasized the city’s six core values: Caring, Preparing, Collaborating, Growing, Serving, and Honoring. The video celebrates Fargo as a city with limitless opportunities where individuals of all ages can thrive and contribute to a community with purpose.

In his speech, Mayor Mahoney acknowledged the challenges that Fargo faced in 2023 but conveyed that what makes Fargo unique remains constant. Fargo is a community big enough to offer everything you need while being small enough to make it your own. As Mayor Mahoney stated, “The City of Fargo is Your Fargo – a place where you can make your mark, a community you can call home.”

The State of the City video is available in high-definition, and an interactive website can be accessed at FargoND.gov/YourFargo.

Mayor Mahoney concluded his remarks by expressing his gratitude to the residents of Fargo and their contributions to the city’s success. He acknowledged that the people of Fargo are what make the city great and will continue to shape its future. The city of Fargo is a community where individuals can have a true purpose, and young people, families, and seniors can thrive.
