Red River Market Opens For Season July 8th

The 9th season of Red River Market is set to open on Saturday, July 8th at Broadway Square in downtown Fargo. This year, the market has grown tremendously and will feature over 90 local vendors offering a variety of products such as produce, meat, eggs, bakery items, pantry goods, household items, art, and more. The farmers’ market will run every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. until the end of October. However, please note that the market will be held on Sunday, July 16th instead of Saturday due to the Downtown Street Fair.

The Red River Market is expanding its vendor lineup, and this season will introduce new businesses like Oats n Toast. This establishment specializes in oat-based offerings such as oat bowls, toast with various toppings, and a selection of drinks and lattes. The owner emphasizes that their mission is to promote authenticity, empowerment, and love within the community. Additionally, customers can purchase 100% Grass-fed and Grass-finished USDA Certified Organic Beef from Good Earth Farms. The farm, located near Belgrade, Minnesota, has been family-owned for three generations and is situated along the Crow River.

The market has grown with the addition of new vendors, now stretching from 5th Street N to the United States Postal Building along 2nd Ave N. This expansion provides visitors with a larger area to explore as they indulge in breakfast, lunch, coffee, or a beverage while being entertained by live music performances from FM Big Bop Jazz Band, Know Idea, and The North 40.

At this season’s market, there will be a strong emphasis on food access and education. Each market day at 11:00 a.m., visitors can enjoy a cooking demonstration and food tasting. On Saturday, Wendi Wheeler will be hosting the event. Additionally, the newly introduced Bite Size Kids Club will offer tokens to children who sample the food. The Little Free Recipes stand, located in Broadway Square, offers an abundance of recipe cards featuring locally sourced produce. Furthermore, all vendors accept SNAP/EBT for eligible products, and the Red River Market matches purchases up to $15 per person per visit at the information booth.

Visitors can park for free at the RDO Tower ramp, Roberts Commons ramp, or Mercantile ramp. More information on vendors and performances is available at www.redriver.market.
