Moorhead, MN – The Northland chapter of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) will host forensic geologist and television personality Scott Wolter as the featured speaker for its upcoming public meeting on Saturday, January 17.
The event will be held as a hybrid gathering, allowing attendees to join in person at locations in Grand Rapids and Moorhead, or remotely via Zoom.
Wolter, best known as the host of the History Channel series America Unearthed, will deliver a presentation drawing from his career in material forensics and his extensive research into alternative history theories. Following his talk, the meeting will shift focus to recent UFO and UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) investigations in North Dakota and Minnesota.
About the Speaker
Scott Wolter is a professional forensic geologist who has served as the president of American Petrographic Services Inc. in St. Paul since 1990. His professional work involves the analysis of construction materials, including concrete and rock, using microscopic techniques to determine their composition and origin.
Wolter gained national attention for applying his geological expertise to historical artifacts, most notably the Kensington Runestone—a controversial stone slab found in Minnesota in 1898 that bears a runic inscription dated to 1362. While the scientific and historical consensus generally regards the stone as a 19th-century creation, Wolter argues that geological weathering patterns suggest the inscription is authentic and pre-dates Columbus.
His research has led him to publish six books on the theory of “Templars in America.” Wolter posits that the Knights Templar, a medieval Christian military order, traveled to North America in the 14th century, leaving behind clues such as the “Hooked X”—a specific runic symbol he believes connects the Templars to the Kensington Runestone and other sites across the continent.
In addition to hosting four seasons of America Unearthed, Wolter has appeared on the streaming series Mysteries of the Knights Templar on Gaia. He is also an active member of the Masonic community, holding the title of Master Mason and 32-degree Scottish Rite Freemason, among other distinctions in the York Rite and Martinist Order.
