The St. Patrick’s Day Parade tradition continues in downtown Fargo in 2021

Fargo Underground is proud to once again join the Downtown Community Partnership in presenting the St. Patrick’s Parade! This year the parade is scheduled for March 20th at 11:00 am.

The Downtown Community Partnership (DCP) reached out to the Fargo-Moorhead Community to poll the overall public’s input on proceeding with this year’s St. Patrick’s Parade. With the outpouring of community support and excitement around the possibility of a safe and socially-distanced parade taking place this year, we’re working hard to make that request happen but we do need your help!

In past years, the parade has attracted a festive entourage of bands, equestrians, Irish dancers, bagpipes, civic clubs, and multicultural groups. A family-friendly event, this celebration unites the community and celebrates an unofficial beginning of spring with some Irish flare.  This year the DCP will encourage participants, businesses, visitors, and residents to celebrate by wearing green, using shamrocks, and playing music to continue making this a memorable experience for area residents and visitors with the addition of masks and social distancing.

To help make this happen we are asking our community partners to help us raise $10,000 to contribute to the organization of this year’s parade. Parades are an expensive and time-consuming undertaking when you factor in the costs of safety measures, security, and logistics. This event is vital to the tradition and fabric of Downtown Fargo and without reaching that number, this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade cannot take place.
