Girls in Aviation Day Opens Doors to Careers in Fargo

Fargo, ND—The Northern Planes Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI) is set to host its third annual Girls in Aviation Day on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Fargo Air Museum. The free event aims to inspire local youth by showcasing career opportunities within the aviation industry.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature hands-on STEM activities, the chance to connect with industry professionals, and opportunities to explore both modern and historic aircraft.

“Our goal is to empower local girls by opening the doors to the many career opportunities available in aviation right here in North Dakota,” said Kate Feitel, President of the Northern Planes Chapter.

The Fargo event is part of a larger global effort, as WAI chapters around the world will be hosting similar outreach events to inspire the next generation of women in the field.

Feitel emphasized the organization’s commitment to accessibility, adding, “This program is free for all participants and their chaperones. We are committed to creating a supportive environment where youth can meet role models, ask questions, and imagine themselves in the world of aviation.”

Organizers encourage attendees to pre-register for a smoother check-in process. The first 50 attendees to arrive will receive a special edition event bag. The chapter is also seeking additional volunteers and sponsors for the event.
