Fargo’s Santa Village To Include Sensory-Friendly Night

The Fargo Park District is excited to announce the addition of a Sensory-Friendly Night to Santa Village, one of Fargo’s premiere holiday events. The Sensory-Friendly Night will take place on Friday, December 15 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm and is designed to embrace the magic of the season with a focus on inclusivity to ensure all attendees can revel in the enchantment of the holidays within a welcoming and sensory-friendly environment.

Committed to inclusivity, this special evening will feature softened lights, gentle music, and a quieter environment to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. Highlights of the night include:

Quiet time with Santa: Experience meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus in an unhurried and quieter setting. Specially allocated times for story-time with Santa and Mrs. Claus will allow attendees to share wishes and create memories in a more sensory-inclusive environment.

Sensory kits: Attendees are welcome to check out a sensory-friendly kit at the front kiosk at no cost. Kits will include headphones, fidget spinners, sunglasses, and more.

Quiet space: Adjacent to the reindeer, the Little Red House will be a designated quiet space. Equipped with sensory toys, this area provides a space to decompress from the hustle and bustle of the event.

Social story: To help facilitate a positive experience at the event, a downloadable social story is available at FargoParks.com. This resource aids individuals and families in familiarizing themselves with the event and helps individuals understand how others might behave or respond in particular situations.

Santa Village is free and open to the entire public from November 25 through December 22. Guests are encouraged to bring donations of canned goods, cash, and new or gently used toys to support area organizations such as the Giving Tree of Hope, the Children’s Miracle Network, the YMCA 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and the Great Plains Food Bank.

Rheault Farm is located at 2902 25th St. S, Fargo with a parking lot off 30th Ave South. For more information, please call 701-499-6060 or visit FargoParks.com.
