The Kentucky Headhunters To Play The Sanctuary In December

Last updated:

The Kentucky Headhunters, one of the most popular and critically acclaimed rock bands of the past few decades, will be coming to Fargo on Friday, December 29, 2023, to perform at the Sanctuary Events Center. Tickets are on sale now.

The band, which was declared “the great American rock ‘n’ roll band” by Billboard magazine, has been around since 1968, when brothers Fred and Richard Young and cousins Greg Martin and Anthony Kenney formed the Southern blues-rock band Itchy Brother. The band morphed into The Kentucky Headhunters in 1986 and released their first album, “Pickin’ On Nashville,” in 1989. The album was a surprise hit, selling over two million copies and winning a Grammy Award, three Country Music Awards, an American Music Award, and an Academy Of Country Music Award. It also spawned four consecutive Top 40 Country hits.

The Kentucky Headhunters have continued to release successful albums and tour extensively throughout their career. They are known for their energetic live shows and their eclectic mix of music, which blends rock, country, blues, and bluegrass.

The band’s current lineup includes Richard Young (lead vocals, guitar), Fred Young (bass, vocals), Greg Martin (drums), and Doug Phelps (guitar, vocals).

Fans can expect to hear all of their favorite Kentucky Headhunters hits at the upcoming Fargo concert, including “Dumas Walker,” “Born to Boogie,” “Pickin’ On Nashville,” and “When the Sun Goes Down.”
