Stop by Island Park on June 9 from 11:00 am-7:00 pm and enjoy a day filled with music, laughter, and fun as children play and learn at the Fargo Park District’s 24th Annual Midwest Kid Fest! This family-friendly event offers a whole day packed with fun games and activities. Admission and all activities are free for kids and parents.
Start the day with the Teddy Bear Parade with line-up starting at 10:30 am at the north end of Island Park by 1st Avenue. Attendees will travel along a colorful path through the park to kick off the festivities. Then, enjoy interactive booths and life-size games such as checkers, Yahtzee, Tetris, bouncy houses, obstacle courses, and more. Explore all the great offerings there are for kids in our community and play a game, make a craft, or learn something new through booth activities courtesy of area businesses and organizations. New this year, Midwest Kid Fest welcomes Leika Sensory Creations will be onsite with a sensory-friendly area featuring sensory toys and activities.
This year’s event is extra special as Penny and Pal’s celebrate their very last show with a rockin’ and rollin’ concert on the Rhythm Rainbow Stage at 5:00 pm. This special 90-minute show will include Bernie the Bear, the Queen of the Quackers, all the Duckies, Copy Cat, Roxie the Penguin, Rockin’ Robot, and more. Come join Penny and her Pals one more time to celebrate the impact they have made on the community for the last 30 years.
Food vendors will be onsite and available for purchase, or you can bring lunch for a picnic at the park. Free transportation is provided by MAT Bus for kids going to the festival. MAT Bus transportation information to Midwest Kid Fest can be found at FargoParks.com. The Island Park parking lots and ramp are both closed for the 2023 season due to construction. There is parking at Dill Hill and the Dike West Park and Skate Park. Street parking is available around the park.
