Fargo Parks join in community-wide Water Safety Day on June 9

The Fargo Park District is partnering with area aquatics facilities to celebrate Water Safety Day on Friday, June 9 from 9:00 – 10:30 am. Water Safety Day is a community initiative to increase water safety awareness and teach critical water safety skills to kids and their parents as we enter summer. The event is free and open to the public and does not require registration.

Events will take place at all four Fargo Park District outdoor pools:

  • Davies Recreational Pool, located at 7150 25th St S
  • Madison Pool & Splash Pad, located at 1040 29th St N
  • Roger G. Gress Northside Recreation Pool (9:00 – 10:00 am), located at 824 19th Ave N
  • Southwest Recreation Pool, located at 1840 15th Ave S

This year’s event will not take place at Island Park Pool as it is closed for the season due to an ongoing reconstruction project.

Many area pools are participating in this community-wide initiative in addition to the participating Fargo Park District pools, including Family Wellness Pool, Moorhead Municipal Pool, Hulbert Aquatic Center and the Fercho YMCA Pool.

Events will include activities designed to teach kids to stay safe while having fun in the water, such as the “Throw, Don’t Go” strategy, back floating skills, safe usage of life jackets, swim tests, general water safety skills and more! Admission to the event is free. Following the event, pools will open for the day at 1:00 pm as scheduled with regular admission rates.
