Wine Class – Iberian Peninsula Wines
October 17 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean from the southwest corner of Europe, the Iberian Peninsula has been a home to winemaking since antiquity. Today, the nations of Spain and Portugal fill this region, and vineyards dot its many landscapes: the cool Atlantic coast of Galicia in the northwest corner, the warm Mediterranean shores of Andalusia in the far south, the Douro river valley that starts around the Portuguese capital of Porto and crosses international borders to wend is way through Spain, and even the historic highlands and lowlands of the fabled rioja region. Each produces distinct styles of wine, yet they are all united by a common warmth, conviviality, and generous spirit so key to the Iberian Peninsula
In this class, Laura Botten will highlight wines from vastly different regions, with distinct climates and landscapes. From the cool, higher elevations to the steep river valleys to the sun-baked plains. Expect to taste wines from classic regions like Rioja and the Douro but also wines from less known locales. Join us to taste the vast array of flavors and sensations the Iberian Peninsula brings to its wines.
Must be 21+ to attend.
