Wine Class – Wine and Chocolate Pairing
March 8 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Wine and chocolate have many similarities; they are both considered refined indulgences, they are both considered aphrodisiacs, and they share certain chemical properties, like the presence of flavanols (antioxidants). Despite these striking similarities, it is challenging to pair wine and chocolate. The complex interplay of sweetness, acidity, and bitterness present in both the wine and chocolate must be carefully considered in order to bring out the best in each. Join Evan Christie of Bridgeview Liquors and Valley Wine Society member, Romayne Kilde, on a Wine and Chocolate Tasting adventure where you will taste and learn about classic pairings and indulge in a unique experience where you can savor the perfect combination of Wine and Chocolate.
In this class, we will take a quick journey through the history of chocolate and its creation process. Learn how chocolate is made from bean to bar and how to taste chocolate properly while sampling single-origin chocolates. You will discover the different types of chocolate and gain expert tips on pairing them with wines for the perfect flavor experience. Our tasting journey will conclude with a Wine and Dessert pairing where we will explore a classic Banyuls dessert wine and Tiramisu pairing.
Must be 21+ to attend.
