Pockets of Time: The Gendered History of How We Carry Things
September 12, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free

Ask any woman how she feels about the pockets in her clothing, and you will get a strong response. Sharing images of historic clothing from various museums, including the Emily Reynolds Historic Costume Collection, guests will explore how the pocket developed in European and American clothing and how it became a point of contention among women in the twentieth century.
This talk will be presented by Susan Curtis, collections manager of the Emily Reynolds Historic Costume Collection at NDSU.
