As part of the Fargo Public Library’s “IditaREAD” Winter Reading Challenge, the library will host a screening of the movie “Togo” (rated PG) on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m. at the downtown Main Library.
The film tells the incredible story of musher Leonhard Seppala and his team of sled dogs with lead dog Togo that ran the most miles of the 1925 serum run to Nome, Alaska, to deliver life-saving diphtheria antitoxin serum to the town. Of the 674-mile trek from Nenana to Nome, Seppala’s sled dog team ran 264 miles of the grueling journey. All ages are welcome to attend this screening and free popcorn will be served.
