Once again, Frode Tilden will be hosting a Traditional Norsk Christmas Event on Saturday, December 2nd at the Sons of Norway Kringen Klub located at 722 2nd Avenue North in downtown Fargo. This year, the event will feature a traditional Norwegian 4-course sit-down plated dinner with seatings available at 3:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal and experience Norwegian culture.
The dinner menu is Norwegian-style pork roast, Norwegian meatballs with beef gravy (alt. vegetarian balls), boiled potatoes, mashed rutabaga, and surkal. Appetizers will be smoked salmon cheeseball, herring, lefse, flatbread, and crackerbread, along with cucumber salad and deviled eggs. After dinner, you can enjoy the dessert buffet table with Rømmegrøt bars, Flan, Riskrem, Homemade Norsk Kringle, Kransekake, Gløgg, Coffee, and Water.
The 18th edition of this popular event will feature live music by The Front Fenders and special guest Kyle Colby. The evening is for adults 21 and over, and the Troll Lounge will be open at 2:30 p.m. with a cash bar available in the ballroom. The event tickets are priced at $40.00 per person, which includes access to the feast and both bands. You can purchase tickets online at sofnfgo.org or acquire them in person from Stabo Scandinavian Imports Inc. located at 406 North Broadway, Fargo, or by dialing 701-282-0421. The number of tickets is very limited and organizers say the event normally sells out early.
Kyle Colby will be playing throughout both seatings of the event from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and The Front Fenders will perform from 8:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. Tickets to The Front Fenders only are $10.00 but are included with the $40.00 event tickets.
A portion of ticket sales will be donated to Concordia Language Villages and Sons of Norway Youth Klubb.
