Winter Birding Festival

Fargo Park District and Audubon Dakota host Frositval Winter Birding Festival

Bring your binoculars and keep your eyes on the skies for a morning of bird watching with the Fargo Park District and Audubon Dakota. The Winter Birding Festival is scheduled from 9:00 am-12:00 pm on Saturday, January 21 at Forest River Park, 224-498 Forest River Dr, Fargo.

Learn about birding from experts, courtesy of Audubon Dakota during this free community event. Forest River Park is designated as an Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society and Birdlife International, joining a global network of the most important sites for birds. The area is also designated as an Urban Woods and Prairies Nature Park.   All skill levels are welcome and there’s a good chance that participants will catch a glimpse of several species of woodpeckers, songbirds, and more rare winter birds, like the Barred Owl. Free hot cocoa is provided, but participants are urged to bring their own binoculars as only a limited number will be provided.

This event is an official part of Frostival, a community-wide celebration of how the Fargo-Moorhead Community makes cold cool. This is a free community event and registration is not required.
