Jack Williams Stadium Big Winner In Fargo Parks Foundation Grant Program

The Fargo Park District Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the second round for the 2022 Matching Grant Program. The Matching Grant Program provides a funding opportunity for associations, organizations, clubs, or individuals to partner on projects in Fargo Park District facilities or parks.

“The Fargo Park District Foundation is excited to partner with Post 2 Baseball and Nicholas Dawson as part of his Eagle Project through our Grant Match Program,” shared Brian Arett, Fargo Park District Foundation Director. “This program provides opportunities to support projects that enrich the lifestyle of our community through recreation.”

Fargo Post 2 Legion Baseball will receive $15,000 to renovate the infield at Jack Williams Stadium this fall including a leveling of the playing surface and installation of new sod. This will provide a much-improved experience for the hundreds of youth infielders that play at Jack Williams each season. The first base bullpen is also set for a renovation this fall including new turf, portable mounds, and an improved drainage system.

Nicholas Dawson, as part of his Eagle Project, will receive $1,300 to build features that users of the Village West Dog Park can use as additional ways to enjoy the dog park. Right now, the parks only have green space and picnic tables. Dawson would like to add ramps and hurdles for dogs to be able to run up and down and jump over.

The Matching Grant Program provides a dollar-for-dollar match. The project sponsor must certify that they have the necessary funds for their share of the total estimated project cost in order to be considered for the program.
