Nature of the North Virtual Workshop

Learn from the comfort of your own home at Nature of the North’s virtual workshops.

Nature of the North will host virtual workshops until further notice to keep the community safe while continuing their mission to get people outdoors.

Moorhead, MN: –Did you know there’s a science behind layering your clothes for cold weather? Have
you ever wanted to try winter camping but didn’t know if you could or where to start? Do you need a
lesson on cast iron cooking? If these questions have piqued your interest, then check out all of the
workshop offerings that this local company has lined up this month!

Nature of the North was founded in 2016 but just opened their first brick & mortar location in
downtown Moorhead during the pandemic, complete with the area’s newest rock climbing wall! With
the latest restrictions in Minnesota, the company was forced to close their wall, but has decided to pivot
and continue their efforts to grow the outdoor community.

“The shutdown came at a hard time, explains owner Jon Walters. Our opening was delayed due
to COVID and now we’re shut down because of it. Like many businesses, we had to think outside
the box in order to keep afloat. Workshops are what got our company started 4 years ago, so it made sense to find a way to make them virtual and bring it back to the whole reason we exist –
to grow our outdoor community!”

Every week Nature of the North offers different workshops that teach everything from basic outdoor skills to DIY crafts and adventuring! They even have a Bike Trail Riding Workshops coming up.

“Okay yeah, sometimes my ideas get a little crazy, Walters admits, but hey it’s going to be a
blast! Who says you can’t teach a trail riding class online? I like to think outside the box and push
boundaries. Now more than ever we need to take risks, try new things, and just get out there!
Who’s comin’ with me?”

All tickets have a donation based pricing option — some come with kits/items that will be mailed to you
for a set price, but most don’t require any tools or kits to attend. A donation of $10 is suggested, but
they simply ask that you give what you are able so they can pay instructors, cover costs and continue
providing workshops through the pandemic!

“Our goal is to keep people safe and slow the spread. Being able to encourage people to stay
home during these crazy times but still be able to give them access to our resources, that’s truly
a blessing.”
