Those who are missing weekends at the farmers’ market will get a chance to stock up on their favorite goods from local vendors soon. Fargo-Moorhead’s largest farmers’ market, the Red River Market, will host a Winter Market event on Saturday, February 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Moorhead Center Mall.
Visitors can shop for locally made food products, see a cooking skills demonstration, and listen to live music, all while in the warmth and comfort of the great indoors. A selection of hot foods will also be available including farmers’ market favorites like the French crepes from Deja Vu Catering and lunch plates from Adibon, Jumbo’s Food Truck, and Deb’s Corner.
This winter version of the weekly summer market will feature a wide variety of locally made pantry items including canned goods, honey, and hot sauce, household products like soaps and lotions, as well as arts and crafts. From fried pies from the Baker’s Wagon to bread from Sour House Bakery, there is something for everyone at the event.
The Winter Market celebrates the Red River Market’s participation in Giving Hearts Day on February 13th with a goal is to raise $14,000 from community members. Funds raised will continue valuable community programing including educational cooking demonstrations, live music, and cultural performances, SNAP/EBT outreach, and children’s programming. An expo of participating non-profit organizations will also take place alongside the market with activities for kids and families.
