Jade Presents has announced Duluth-based folk-rock band Glitterati will play The Aquarium in Fargo with guest Jack Winders on Sunday, March 15, 2020.
Glitterati
Glitteratti consists of songwriter Marc Gartman on guitar (Fever Dream, Two Many Banjos), Dave Carroll on electric guitar (Trampled by Turtles, Two Many Banjos), Tim Saxhaug on bass (Trampled by Turtles, Dead Man Winter) and Kyle Keegan on drums (Ben Howard, Freeman).
Their most recent album ‘In Pasadena’ was produced by Steve Garrington (Low, Retribution Gospel Choir) and recorded with Lance Conrad (Grandma’s Boyfriend, Belle and Sebastian) at Human’s Win! in Minneapolis.
Glitteratti formed in Duluth, MN 2013 as an acoustic folk outfit. Their first EP, a covers record, was recorded by Rich Mattson at his Sparta Sound in Northern Minnesota. The band made their way through classic songs from the Everly Bros, Pink Floyd, Spinal Tap and others.
‘In Pasadena,’ marked a dramatic shift for the band. Gartman had written dozens of songs for consideration but it was his electric guitar compositions that grabbed Steve Garrington’s ear the most. Songs that were darker, dancier, more vibey. The band agreed with Steve that this was the direction they should move in for their 2017 effort.
Glitteratti will be back in the studio this Fall with Eau Claire based engineer Brian Joseph (Bon Iver, Paul Simon) and producer Steve Garrington.
They will tour in support of this upcoming release in March 2020.
Jack Winders
Apart from a four-year stint in New Zealand, Jack grew up in Belle Plaine, MN. Picking up a guitar for the first time as a high school freshman, he was immediately drawn to the possibilities music offered. It wasn’t long before he started a band with some high school friends with the intention of playing their favorite covers at the local bars.
By the time Jack was a freshman at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD, he had discovered a passion for original music and helped form the band Horseplay. While students at SDSU, Horseplay recorded two full-length albums and played their brand of Roots Rock and Roll extensively around the Midwest. After earning a degree in economics, Jack moved to Fargo, North Dakota in the spring of 2017 and has spent the time since writing, recording and performing as a solo artist.
