2018 Fargo-Moorhead Frostival Events Guide

When people hear that you live in Fargo, the first (or second) thing they’ll ask about is how cold the winters get in North Dakota. Yes, it gets cold up here in the north country, but not only do we love our winters – we embrace the season for bringing us a whole new selection of activities. Frostival 2018 is one of those things we’ve got to look forward to each year.

At the end of January, the Fargo-Moorhead metro hosts a celebration of the winter season and all of the activities that we enjoy during the cold months of snow. It all kicks off with a community-wide party downtown, complete with live music, local brews and plenty of fire pits for making s’mores.

The Frostival is a weekend full of activities for everyone including art, activities, music and sports. The North of Normal Games include the Cardboard Sled Race, Cross Country Ski Race, Disc Golf, Golf, Kickball and Volleyball competitions all taking place on Saturday, January 27, 2018.

Frostival activities include the Base Camp with a beer garden, live music and the Frosty Cup Winter Olympics. The Winter Rocks Skating Event is a skating event at Fargo’s Downtown on Ice with games and prizes for youth. The Kids Winter Boot Camp features sleigh rides, inflatable games, music, craft and science projects and more in West Fargo.

Folkways will have Log the Sauna at Frostival for folks to warm up from the cold, while Snowga is outdoor yoga in the fresh powder!

Regardless of which events you choose to attend, Frostival 2018 is sure make you know why we say #ColdisCool!
