Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity Begins Work on 52nd Home

Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity is excited to be starting the 52nd Habitat home in the area. The partner family, volunteers, neighbors and supporters will raise the walls on the second build of the season at 922 10th Street N, Fargo on Saturday August 22 at 11:30 am. Wall raising celebrations mark the beginning of the build by celebrating with the partner family, volunteers, build sponsors and the neighborhood. They also launch the Blitz Week, a week of building that will complete the exterior of the home. The home will be completed in mid October.

The partner family for this home is Tenille Brackins and her daughter, Tahira. Tenille is excited to be a Habitat homeowner so that her daughter will be able to play outside in a yard and have a healthy home to live in. Tahira has asthma and is extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke, molds and dust. Having this home will be affordable for Tenille, but it also means less doctor visits since the environment will be healthier.

Tenille is another Habitat homeowner who is looking forward to the Partner Family Education classes because she wants to learn more about budgeting, home maintenance, yard care and energy conservation. Tenille has volunteered at build sites with Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity in the past and felt that it was rewarding to help families build their dream of home ownership. Tenille feels blessed that others are so willing to help her and her daughter.Neighbors, volunteers, and sponsors are welcome to come meet the family, participate in the Wall Raising Celebration and stick around for lunch.
