Fargo-Moorhead Pride is a vibrant celebration of LGBTQ+ identity and community. This volunteer-run week of events empowers, educated, and supports LGBTQ+ individuals throughout the region. Each year, the celebrations draw attendees from North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and even Canada, making it one of the area’s largest rural Pride events.
The roots of Fargo-Moorhead Pride trace back to the late 1980s and early 1990s when a small group of LGBTQ+ activists organized the first Pride event. Since then, it has grown significantly, reflecting the region’s evolving attitudes toward LGBTQ+ rights and acceptance.
This vibrant event fosters a sense of community, promotes visibility, and advocates for equality. Fargo-Moorhead Pride hosts a variety of events, including a 5K Fun Run, Interfaith Service, Youth Drag Show, Dance Party, Trivia & Karaoke, Vinyl Night, and more. Volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, marchers, and performers all contribute to the success of FM Pride. Consider joining the team or sponsoring an event to show your support.
Pride Week in Fargo-Moorhead takes place in early August every year. Whether you’re a local resident or visiting the area, the event offers a welcoming space to celebrate love, diversity, and equality.
