Wine Class – Rosé
April 1, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm
America has come to embrace pink wine over the last decade or so. No longer does the dualistic tyranny of white or red reign, but the enigmatic third way of rosé has risen in its own right. Produced in a number of ways, at a most basic level a rosé is a wine made with grapes which would normally make a red wine but instead are treated more gently, seeing less contact with the grape skin, which results in a lighter color, structure and flavor. But to think of rosés as only lighter or more gentle is to miss the exciting and varied experience these wines have to offer.
In this class, Laura Botten will help you explore rosés made in a variety of places, according to a variety of methods, and using a variety of different grapes. Expect some that fit the ethos of gulpable summer water while others will offer surprisingly deep, rich, and intriguing flavors. Learn how rosés can fit many occasions from eclectic get togethers to pairing with otherwise tricky-to-pair dishes. Expect to taste and learn about some truly great wine just in time for the rosé season to ramp up!
