Wine Class – Glou Glou Wines
April 11 @ 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm
Join Certified Sommelier Josh Voytek on an introduction to the style of red wines known as Glou Glou wines. Just in time for the spring/summer season, think of these wines as crushable, drinkable, chillable, patio pounder red wines. The term Glou Glou (French for glug glug) refers to the sound made when gulping these wines down. Although Glou Glou wines can be made from all different grape varieties and in different styles, some common features can include carbonic maceration and more natural style processes, which produce a lighter-colored red wine with lower tannins. While the initial concept for Glou Glou wines started in France, particularly in the Beaujolais region, several California producers are making some spectacular Glou Glou wines as well. If you are a fan of Rose or lighter red wines, this is certainly the class to introduce you to some great quaffable red wines for the season.
