Uncovering Pieces of the Past

March 14, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Archeology is the study of the past using materials that people left behind. It’s practiced in every country in the world. Archeology is even happening in the Fargo-Moorhead area! On our site, archaeologists study the Native American past and the history of the more recent 19th and early 20th centuries. Dr. George Holley, an archeologist and retired MSUM professor will visit the Main Library to explain the practice of archeology. He’ll provide hands-on opportunities and a chance to view artifacts found in our region. This event is most appropriate for kids ages eight and older. No pre-registration is required. This program is part of the Red River Valley Kids Read series of events.
