Spirits & More Class – The History of Alcohol in America
September 12 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Join Sommelier Justin Blanford on a journey through America and its history of alcohol! From the very beginning of our nations inception the production and consumption of alcohol played a pivotal role. Rum taxation without representation was a defining factor in waging war for our independence, rye whiskey was our nations first currency, and Johnny Appleseed spread apple tree out west not as a source of food; but as a source of hooch! We will follow the twisting path of American production and consumption of alcohal all the way from inception, through prohibition, and ending with todays modern craft beer market. It should be quite the journey!
