Jazz in the Cellar
Max Johnk is a musician who lives and works in Fargo, North Dakota. A journeyman bassist with broad tastes and professional experience, Max can be heard in cover bands, jazz groups, and DIY shows across the midwest. Max’s focus as a composer and bandleader centers on improvised music; his most recent album is Laid Across Your Path (2021).
Max is excited to bring a group of longtime collaborators along on his first musical outing at The Cellar. The band will visit classic repertoire from the ‘jazz canon’, while making the case for some contemporary additions to that lineage. Billie Holiday and Beyonce may both be involved… we hope you’ll join us!
