FROSTIVAL: Fun at the Frozen Fortress

Embrace the cool of winter with a day of outdoor activities and events: The Moorhead Business Association’s Snow Sculpture Contest, free cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals, gaga ball and other games, a hot chocolate station and marshmallow roast, beer for purchase from Swing Barrel Brewing Co., a scavenger hunt, DJ, face-painting, balloon-tying and much more frosty fun!
Register for free activities, including a Snowshoe Hike hosted by River Keepers, indoor and outdoor yoga, and Dance Attack! Free museum entry courtesy of the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County!
Enjoy chili and hot dogs with all the trimmings inside the Hjemkomst Center in support of the Kiwanis Club of Moorhead Foundation’s annual fundraiser! $10/adult, $8/student, children seven and under free with donation.
Make parking a breeze and take advantage of LinkFM’s event route. Park and wait near one of LinkFM’s 14 downtown FM bus stops, wave to the LinkFM driver when you see the bus coming, and board for free. 11 am: River Keepers Snowshoe Hike
Explore the banks of the Red River on snowshoes in downtown Moorhead. Bring snowshoes if you have them. Otherwise, Moorhead Parks and Recreation will provide them for free! Cold-weather clothing is a must.
Noon (INSIDE): Snowga hosted by Total Balance Fitness
Discover peace and tranquility through yoga! Join local instructor Ginny Carlson as she leads Snowga, a fun, accessible practice for yoga students of all ages and levels.
1 pm (INSIDE): Dance Attack hosted by Total Balance Fitness
Join us for this 45-minute power-packed fitness dance party! Various music and conditioning for the entire body are broken down into simple dance patterns. This format is fun for all ages, shapes, and fitness levels.
2 pm (OUTSIDE): Winter Yoga hosted by Caroline McGuire of CJM Yoga
Join a holistic outdoor yoga practice for all ages, backgrounds, and ability levels. This experience will include movement through postures, breathwork, and meditation. Please dress for outdoor winter weather (snow pants, boots, coat, hat, gloves, etc.). There is no need to bring a yoga mat – perhaps just a thermos of your favorite warm beverage and some hand warmers for comfort!
2:30 pm (INSIDE): MBA Snow Sculpture Competition winner announced!
