Basics of Outdoor Recreation
September 21, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeAs part of the 2023 One Book, One Community reading project, the Fargo Public Library will host an event introducing attendees to outdoor recreation Thursday, Sept. 21, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the downtown Main Library.
Curious about a more outdoorsy lifestyle? Presenter Jenny Sheets, founder of Discover Outdoors, will teach a class about the Basics of Outdoor Recreation. Sheets will provide guidance on clothing and gear for every season, outdoor safety, camp and trail food, and share some of her favorite outdoor spots around the area. Jenny Sheets fell in love with the outdoors when she started working in the Grand Teton National Park at 18. Since then she has hiked and climbed mountains across the US, Peru, Bolivia, Italy, and more. She’s an avid long-distance trail runner, mountain biker, hiker, and camper. Her most recent adventure was learning how to camp with a two-year-old. The event is open to all ages. For details, contact Lori West at 701.476.5977.
