Wine Class – Dry Riesling

Riesling is most associated with Germany, where it can run from dry styles like Trocken and Kabinett, to super sweet dessert wines, and even some sparkling wines. However, with its light body and high acidity, Riesling has also found some success being planted in other countries in the world, particularly in cooler climate regions. Some notable areas include Alsace in northeastern France, northeastern Austria along the Danube River, the Clare and Eden Valleys in South Australia, and the Willamette Valley in Oregon. The class will explore some great examples of Rieslings from some of these regions that demonstrate how this grape can have different expressions based on terroir, and will also discuss pairings to illustrate how versatile this wine can be.
