Wine Class – Southern Italy

Join Certified Sommelier Josh Voytek on an exploration of wines from the regions of Campania, Calabria, and Puglia on the end of the Italian peninsula. While regions like Piedmont, Tuscany, and Venice tend to get the most attention in terms of wines from Italy, the whites and reds of the southern part of Italy are often unfairly overlooked due to being made from unfamiliar grapes such as Aglianico, Negroamaro, Falanghina, and Fiano, but these grapes often have a lot of unique character due to the volcanic soils that they often grow in, and are tremendously underrated food wines. The lineup will include an assortment of fresh whites and zesty reds, so come prepared to learn more about this region and explore these fantastic and reasonably-priced Italian wines.
