Victor Shores to play Fargo Vinyl Release Show with Ohio’s Signals Midwest

Minneapolis’ pop-punk Victor Shores will play a vinyl release show at The Aquarium on Thursday, March 30th, 2023 with Ohio’s Signals Midwest, Minot/Bismarck’s Vanity Plate, and locals Pass the Flask. Doors open at 7 pm, with music starting at 8 pm. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.

Recorded over three years before the pandemic began, the songs on Victor Shores’ new self-titled album have been sitting just waiting for a time when the band could properly promote it and tour around it. The time is now.

The band says these 9 hard emo punk tracks are the emotional equivalent of an endorphin injection, mixing difficult life experiences with gleaming optimism and ridiculously infectious songwriting. The 12-inch vinyl is available through No Funeral Records and tapes from Tomb Tree Tapes.

No Funeral calls the LP “A pop-punk dive full of beauty, sadness, nostalgia, and a feeling of hope for the future. Cleaner and more stripped down than the previous releases, Donny, David, and Bryce bring something that is easy to listen to while bombarding us with a true emotional sound. Pop punk and emo meeting in the perfect way. A future essential.”

Joining Victor Shores for the show, Cleveland’s Signals Midwest is touring on the heels of the 2022 release of their fifth LP, DENT. Recorded by J. Robbins (Against Me!, Jets to Brazil, The Promise Ring) and inspired by a stolen (and ultimately totaled) van, the album confronts the uncertainty of a world at a halt and transmits the shaken-up-soda-can energy that fueled its writing process.

With a feedback squeal and a quick four-count, DENT hits the ground running, and what follows is just over a half-hour’s worth of big songs about little moments, ominous futures, the lure of nostalgia, and finding shards of peace in an almost all-consuming wreckage. In a world up in flames, DENT is a project born from the ashes.
