Fargo, N.D. – Relax and unwind with the Fargo Park District this National Hammock Day! The celebration takes place on Monday, July 22nd, from 4 pm to 8 pm near the Island Park Gazebo.
The event offers a chance to chill out with live music from local vinyl DJ AP, browse books from the Fargo Public Library book cart, and participate in interactive games like “We’re Not Really Strangers.” You can even help create a community mural!
Don’t have a hammock? No worries! The Fargo Park District will have a limited supply available for free check-out. This free event is open to everyone and a perfect way to connect with friends, family, and neighbors while enjoying a favorite park activity.
This year’s National Hammock Day coincides with National Park and Recreation Month, which celebrates the importance of parks and recreation in building strong communities. The theme for 2024 is “Where You Belong,” highlighting the welcoming and inclusive nature of parks and recreation programs that provide safe and accessible spaces for all.
