The Wave Water Park Poised for Epic Debut in Fargo

Last updated:

Funding for the project is completed and the project will start construction as soon as the frost lifts

The Wave by EPIC Waterpark Resort, the first new construction indoor waterpark, is set to open in Fargo, North Dakota soon. It will make a splash in the region and is expected to open in December 2025 with soft openings. Guests can start making their first reservations on February 1st, 2026. The Wave has finalized all plans and secured the final loan, allowing construction work to begin. The project’s total cost is approximately $73.8 million. EPIC Companies and its investors will be the owner and developer of the project, while S&L Hospitality, a Wisconsin-based company with experience in similar attractions, will manage the project.

The Wave is a symbol of fun and relaxation that appeals to people of all ages and is in line with Fargo’s growing reputation as a vibrant and family-friendly city. At the heart of this exciting resort lies a 50,000 square foot indoor waterpark that draws visitors from a 180-mile radius. The waterpark is not exclusive to overnight guests, as it’s open to the public with day passes available for purchase. This ensures that anyone can enjoy the excitement and pleasure of The Wave.

“Our goal has always been to ensure The Wave by EPIC Waterpark Resort is a North Dakota destination location that gathers guests from far and wide,” said McKenzy Braaten, Chief Communications Officer at EPIC Companies. “We can’t wait to see many smiling faces walk through those doors upon opening.”

IMAGINE Hotels by EPIC is now part of the Choice Hotel Ascend Collection. The hotel is seamlessly connected to The Wave by EPIC Waterpark Resort, providing an ideal accommodation option for our guests and visitors. This 4-story hotel has 135 rooms, some of which feature private patios. It also features a ground-floor restaurant with a lounge, dedicated meeting spaces, party rooms, a family entertainment center, high-speed internet, and complimentary parking. From standard rooms that cater to solo travelers or business guests, to family suites designed for larger groups, each accommodation type is thoughtfully designed to enhance the guest experience, combining comfort with a touch of aquatic fun.

“This will be the largest indoor waterpark in the tri-state area and will be a great addition to the greater Fargo area and North Dakota, we are excited to be a part of it,” said Eric Lund, CEO/President of S&L Hospitality.

The resort offers more than just a waterpark. There are various dining and entertainment options available for guests. The on-site restaurant and bar provide an exceptional dining experience. The Family Entertainment Center is perfect for family fun and features mini bowling and other games. For those with a sweet tooth, the Confectionary has an array of treats, and the Snack Shack is great for quick bites. Adults can relax at the waterpark’s Tiki Bar, while the Kidz Club provides a creative space for arts and crafts for younger guests.

“The Wave Waterpark Resort is exactly the kind of development that I love to see driving Fargo forward,” said Dr. Tim Mahoney, Mayor of Fargo. “It’s an exciting, family-oriented amenity that both metro residents and visitors will enjoy. As a year-round destination, this resort will draw tourists from all over, adding fuel to Fargo’s economic engine.”

EPIC Companies has a major objective of partnering with various local non-profits to provide them with reduced and/or free day passes to The Wave by EPIC Waterpark Resort. The waterpark will offer significant support to multiple hotels in the region, with a Wave Runner bus scheduled to operate from the Holiday Inn, Home Depot, and Four Points by Sheraton. This will allow guests to stay at other hotels nearby and still enjoy the amenities offered by The Wave.

Epic has claimed that The Wave is not just a destination, but rather an all-encompassing experience that offers both enjoyment and comfort. It is a perfect choice for families, couples, and solo adventurers. As Fargo continues to expand and draw tourists, The Wave stands as a symbol of the city’s lively and spirited personality, as well as its dedication to providing meaningful and unforgettable experiences.

“The Wave Waterpark Resort will be a game-changer for visitors to Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo,” said Fargo-Moorhead Convention & Visitors Bureau CEO/President Charley Johnson. “Based on my long-term, anecdotal research, residents and visitors alike have been asking for a waterpark for a long time, and I know it will be a popular place when it’s up and running!”

EPIC will be hosting a large groundbreaking event for The Wave by EPIC Waterpark Resort open to the public this spring. To stay up to date on all things about The Wave visit TheWavebyEPIC.com and follow us on social media at facebook.com/TheWavebyEPIC.
