MSU Moorhead will celebrate the expansion of its Oceanarium on World Oceans Day, Thursday, June 8.
The Oceanarium is an interactive, investigative marine laboratory that features more than 50 species of sea life. Visitors can handle horseshoe crabs, get up close and personal with stingrays and learn about the importance of oceans and their creatures. The Oceanarium is located in the lower level of Langseth Hall, 600 11th St. S., Moorhead.
An open house with tours will run from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 8, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. Parking is available in the R-4 lot directly north of Langseth Hall and any general lot. Light refreshments will be served.
Also, to commemorate World Oceans Day, the Red River Zoo will donate half of its gate admission to the Oceanarium on June 8. Donations to support the MSUM Oceanarium can be made online at https://donate.mnstate.edu/oceanarium.
