Grab your friends and family and “flock” together with the Fargo Park District and Audubon Great Plains for a morning of birding at Forest River Park. The Spring Birding Festival will take flight on Saturday, May 13 from 7:00 – 11:00 am and promises to be a memorable and educational experience for all ages.

This year’s festival is extra exciting as the Fargo Park District and Audubon Great Plains work to plant an urban pollinator plot. All birding participants are invited to take a few extra minutes to plant a pollinator plug and help us reach our goal of planting 750 plugs in Forest River Park. This site is part of an ongoing restoration effort to protect and enhance native prairie and woodland habitats. Along with improving woodlands, diverse prairie seed mixes rich in native grasses and flowers will be planted to improve pollinator habitats. Initiative partners will implement adaptive management strategies for years to come to ensure a healthy habitat for birds, pollinators, wildlife, and the community.

This event is free and open to the entire community. All skill levels are welcome. Learn about birding and bird and pollinator-friendly plants from experts, participate in a scavenger hunt, and receive a free t-shirt! Bring your own binoculars, a limited number will be provided.

Forest River is located at 500 Forest River Dr. For more information, contact the Fargo Park District at 701-499-6060 or visit FargoParks.com.
