Public invited to event to meet new Valley Senior Services Director

Valley Senior Services invites the public to BINGO and Pie with Paul open house event ahead of Giving Hearts Day on Thursday, January 26 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Ed Clapp Senior Center, 2801 32nd Ave S, Fargo.

The event is an opportunity for area seniors, community members and partners to hear about the future of Valley Senior Services and the organization’s vision and goals. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Paul Grindeland who was recently named the organization’s Director. Grindeland will give a short statement, call BINGO and be available to meet the public at this open house style event. Pie will be provided.

This year marks the 8th year that Valley Senior Services will participate in Giving Hearts Day, a 24-hour fundraising event for charities in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Donations from Giving Hearts Day directly support seniors who use Valley Senior Services programs across the region such as Meals on Wheels, transportation services, local senior centers and more.

“We could not do the work we do and make the difference we do without the support of our generous community,” says Grindeland. “It is my hope that you will join us to learn more about our efforts and the ways that donations directly support area seniors.”

Grindeland has been with the Fargo Park District and Valley Senior Services since 1986. He was recently promoted to Director to replace outgoing Director Brian Arett, who retired at the end of 2022. For more than 50 years Valley Senior Services has provided services to thousands of seniors across countless communities in North Dakota and Minnesota. Services include delivering daily hot meals through Meals on Wheels, operating local senior centers, providing regular social activities (like BINGO), transportation services, connecting seniors to needed resources and much more. It is an entity of the Fargo Park District.
