Local non-profit Lunch Aid North Dakota is back to raise money to eliminate food insecurity in the Fargo-Moorhead community. In its fourth year, Lunch Aid continues to combine food and music to energize audiences to step up and do the right thing for their communities.

TLC CLEANING Presents Lunch Aid 2022 hosted by Fargo Brewing Company opens at 5 pm on Saturday, September 24. Performing live at the TLC CLEANING Presents Lunch Aid 2022 benefit concert are The Quarterly, Hiahli, Heatbox, The Jensen Sisters, The Knotties, and DJ AP. Each year, Lunch Aid North Dakota teams up with a non-profit organization in need of fundraising assistance. Proceeds this year will benefit Fargo Public Schools Foundation, Heart n Soul Community Café, The Neighborhood Church, and Youthworks of North Dakota.

“Food insecurity is a huge thing in our community that is maybe often not talked about or maybe not seen. In our neighborhood about 80% of our students at our local school have qualified for free or reduced meals, which means about 80% of our families are living at or below poverty line, which is huge,” Jessica Olson Miller with The Neighborhood Church said.

Each of the non-profit partners has a mission that includes helping to feed people and we are honored to support their mission for Lunch Aid 2022. You can find more information on the TLC CLEANING Presents Lunch Aid 2022 fundraiser and ticket sales here.

Founded in 2019 and based in Fargo, Lunch Aid North Dakota was born through an unlikely partnership: a marketing/promotions director, Kari Lugo, and a math professor/musician, Jason Boynton. The organization has raised more than $65,000 to support the eradication of food insecurity in North Dakota. Boynton said, “The average North Dakota family is going to have a rougher go of it this year with higher food and gas prices. Families with kids in school will likely have an extra food expense of around $1,000-1,500.” Lugo said, “As humans, it’s our shared responsibility to care for one another. Lunch Aid exists for that very reason so that we can ‘help people feed people’ and give back to the community we live in.”
