Kilbourne Group’s “Block 9” to feature upscale Aparium Hotel Group property

Block 9, the Kilbourne Group‘s 18-story mixed-use development  located on the corner of Broadway and Second Avenue in downtown Fargo, will feature a to-be-named hotel and restaurant managed by the Aparium Hotel Group of Chicago.

Aparium is a luxury hotel group that specializes in “one-of-a-kind, hyper-localized” hotels and restaurants, predominantly in the midwest. Founded in Chicago in 2011,  Aparium will oversee operations for the hotel and food and beverage components, as well as lead the charge on the branding, programming and positioning of this highly anticipated development.

“Block 9 is an incredible development that will take the energy and excitement of downtown Fargo to a new level, and we’re honored to be part of it,” said Mario Tricoci, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aparium Hotel Group. “We’re eager to work alongside Kilbourne Group and the Block 9 team to infuse a signature Aparium Hotel Group style of hospitality into the development, as well as meet with the various local makers, artisans and businesses that will help to make this hotel an emblem of Fargo.”

Other Aparium properties in the region include the Hewing Hotel in Minneapolis, the Hotel Deco in Omaha and the Charmant Hotel in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The group’s Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee was named one of the Top 15 Hotels in the Midwest by Condé Nast Traveler in 2015, while the Hewing won that honor in 2017.

We are grateful to R. D. Offutt Company whose commitment to bring its headquarters to downtown Fargo makes this project possible.”

Block 9, which is set to break ground later in 2018, will be home to a ground-up, mixed-use development, which will serve as a new headquarters for R.D. Offutt Company. The Aparium-managed property will host 110 hotel rooms across five floors as well as a ground floor flagship food and beverage venue.  According to Kilbourne, the hotel and restaurant will be constructed and programmed with local influences to capture the spirit of Fargo.
