For many folks in the Fargo-Moorhead area, Pride is a highlight of the summer. Besides the parade and legendary parties, the event draws thousands of LGBTQ+ residents and their allies from all over the region to downtown Fargo.
Winter Pride, January 30th through February 9th, is an opportunity to get together and celebrate – and bring some rainbow colors to wipe away the winter blues. We’ve compiled a list of the 2018 Winter Pride events. See our full calendar for other downtown events that weekend.
Winter Pride Karaoke – Tuesday January 30th
Dempsey’s Public House | 226 Broadway N, Fargo | 9 pm | 21+
Karaoke Night at Dempsey’s is already a very popular night for the LGBTQ+ community in Fargo, so it’s only natural to kick-off Winter Pride at the pub.
If you come from 4-7 pm, you can enjoy $5 appetizers. Locals rave about the Chicken Quesadilla and your can’t go wrong with the Italian Beef Sliders! For the hard-core bar food afficianados, a Pickled Egg basket is available as well.
Winter Pride Vinyl Night – Wednesday January 31st
Front Street Taproom | 614 Main Ave, Fargo | 7 pm | 21+
Front Street Taproom has quickly caught on with downtowners because of its intimate atmosphere and great selection of local and regional craft brews. Located just down the block from Rhombus Guys (who offer free pizza delivery), the new taproom opened in late 2016.
The folks from Vinyl Giant and DJ AP (Anthony Price) will be spinning hit on the turntables. For every pint sold during the event, Front Street Taproom will donate $1 to FM Pride!
Winter Pride Trivia & Game Night – Thursday February 1st

If you’ve ever attended the summer edition of FM Pride, you’ve probably been to Rhombus Guys for trivia. Last summer’s event was packed and we even got treated to an outdoor viewing of “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar”!
Winter Pride Trivia & Game Night is an all ages event and kicks off in the afternoon with board games and a time for everyone to hang out and see old friends and new. At 8 pm, trivia kicks off and that means a lot of fun, laughter and healthy competition.
Totally Gay 80’s Dance Party – Friday February 2nd

We’re going to have a totally tubular time at the Radisson! The Totally Gay 80’s Dance Party is going to be bitchin’!
Go deep into your closet (ha!) and break out the finest 80’s gear you’ve got and hit the dance floor in your righteous duds. The dance will feature a live DJ, a cash bar and all the 80’s tunes you’ll need to go all night.
Inaugural Trans Support Gala – Friday February 9th
Courtyard by Marriott | 1080 28th Ave S, Moorhead | 8pm | Singles – $30 / Couples – $55 | 21+
Pick out your party dress or best suit and join us for the first-ever Trans Support Gala in Fargo-Moorhead! This evening of fun and dancing promises to be a highlight of the winter.
The evening will kick off with apps and a cocktail reception at 6 pm, with a welcome from our hosts – Rebel Marie and Vyla Grindberg. The ballroom doors open at 7 pm and with feature dancing and parlor games.
Along with door prizes, the event will feature awards for the Best Dressed, Best Dancer and the YASSS Award!
The event is open to all allies and community members of any gender identity or sexual orientation.
InterFaith Service – Sunday February 11th

People’s United Church of Christ presents: The Interfaith Winter Pride Service
Pastor Grace Murray will be providing an interfaith service for Winter Pride! This event is for all ages, for those that are in the LGBTQ+ community as well as any allies. After the service, food will be served in the worship space as well. Feel free to join in!
