The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County (HCSCC) will host an afternoon reception on Sunday, December 31, celebrating a record year and a successful exhibition of Illuminating the Word: The Saint John’s Bible. The reception will be held on the 3rd Floor at the Hjemkomst Center from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. HCSCC executive director Maureen Kelly Jonason, The Saint John’s Bible exhibition lead and HCSCC member Anne Kaese, and other volunteers and staff will all share remarks at 3:00PM.

HCSCC members will receive free admission and non-members are invited to take advantage of Buy One, Get One Free admission.

Illuminating the Word: The Saint John’s Bible is the largest art exhibition in HCSCC’s history and features 68 original folios of The Saint John’s Bible. The exhibition helped propel HCSCC to record attendance and membership this past year. When the exhibition closes in 2018, it will be sent back to Saint John’s University and Abbey in Collegeville, MN, where folios will be displayed on rotation at the Alcuin Library. Some will embark on a recently announced global exhibition tour.
