Promoter Jade Presents has announced that Minnesota band 4onthefloor will play the Sanctuary Events Center with VOLK on Friday, May 8, 2020. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 28, at 10:00 a.m.
Hailing from Minnesota, the 4onthefloor take the heavy road route, grooving in the tracks of so many rubber to the road musicians before them. Following in the footsteps of some of the band’s influences, being on the road plays a large role in the writing. With the 4onthefloor’s third release, All In, front man, Gabriel Douglas, wants the band’s next album to be driving and immediate; something that speaks to the growing audience of the band.
“You don’t need a time machine to experience this record and this isn’t a kid playing with a laptop in their closet,” Douglas said.
The band wanted to showcase their roots in blues and also the immediacy of post-pop punk with the hooks & sing-a-longs you’d find in all the best road trip anthems. All songs on this record were written with a notable high octane, and the furious delivery can be heard throughout the tracks.
Lightning-charged duo VOLK is a Molotov cocktail of high-octane Rock & Roll and Honky-Tonking Country swagger. Their live performances explode with Chris Lowe’s (Texas, guitar) and Eleot Reich’s (Calif., drums) Motor City energy and Nashvegas pageantry. They boast musical influences ranging from the Carter Family to Little Richard to Dwight Yoakam to ACDC. VOLK is loud suits and loud amps, shiny dresses and shiny drumsets; it’s growling tones and thunderous beats; VOLK is Rock & Roll, Country-Fried.
Since settling for greener pastures in Nashville in 2017, VOLK has opened for such acts as Charley Crockett, Diarrhea Planet, Royal Thunder, Hillbilly Casino and The Ghost Wolves. VOLK released their sophomore EP, Average American Band, through Romanus Records in November 2018, which is now on its third pressing. Their debut album, Cashville, will release in early 2020.
