Red River Market Brings Spring Event to Willow Park in Southwest Fargo

The Red River Market’s regular-season starts in July, but visitors can get a taste of what is to come on Saturday, May 22nd, in the Willow Park Neighborhood. The Red River Spring Market will feature a selection of hot food, baked goods, pantry items, and more from over 30 local vendors.

This is the first time that the market will be held at Willow Park. Red River Market organizers hope that this special spring event will invite more community members to visit the market. Free parking is available across the street at Blue Cross Blue Shield, 4510 13th Ave S.

Vendors will be offering a variety of food and handmade products at their booths, including lunch from Casa Delicia Eatery food truck. Owner, Eduardo Sanchez, moved to Fargo last fall to chase his dream of starting a food truck. The menu features a selection of tacos, quesadillas, burritos cooked with asada, chicken, pastor, or fish along with a selection of vegetarian options. Casa Delicia hopes that people don’t just enjoy the authentic and unique taste of their Mexican cuisine, but also learn a little more about Mexican culture through their food.

Live music will start at 10:00 a.m. with the opening bell. The stage will feature performances by local musicians Hunter Webster, Kara Brusven, and Kwaician.

SNAP Double Bucks

At the Spring Market, Red River Market will be promoting their SNAP Double Bucks Program. The SNAP Double Bucks Program matches purchases each week made by customers using food assistance. This year, the match amount has been raised from $10 to $15 per person per market day. Users can swipe their EBT card at the information booth to withdraw any amount from their account. Their purchase is matched up to $15 in market tokens to spend on grocery items, baked items, canned goods, and produce.

COVID Precautions

Market stalls will be spaced out to allow for social distancing throughout the Willow Park parking lot. Masks will be required in the shopping area with an additional socially distanced seating area to enjoy food and beverage. COVID Guidelines are available at www.redriver.market/covid
